Went into the evil store that shall not be named today - dont even get me started on why its evil! Lets just say its propaganda filled rants in the paper make me red with anger! Anyway, I still cant resist going in even though I hate it(maybe thats why I like it) and so in I went today preparing to feel smug for walking out without buying anything as usual and what did I find: natural cleaning products!
Ok so it wasnt very exciting, just the same old white vinegar, borax and bicarb of soda that you can find anywhere, but it was so cheap and also a flash of inspiration! I spend so much time looking for natural based cleaning products and hating how expensive they were yet didnt even think of the most simple solution, one that has been used for many years. People didnt need all of the different chemicals in the 1950's that are put in modern cleaning products. Maybey they have superior bug cleaning powers, but if you keep clean that shouldnt be an issue, and whats worse: a few natural bugs that your body is designed to beat or cancer causing chemicals that we dont stand a chance against?
When I was in the supermarket the other day attempting to buy washing powder for my clothes I got to reading the ingredients (yes Im a little obsessive!) and the one that scared me the most was formaldehyde. It just sounds scary and anything that is used for pickling dead creatures is not something I want in or on my body. Pickled heart? No thanks! And guess what? I was reading on the leaflet that came with my cleaning products that bicarb can be used to clean clothes! Ok so some of you may have known this for ages but I didnt realise it was THAT versatile! So now it seems my all round cleaning dilemma has been solved for now. I bought some ecover fabric conditioner to keep my clothes soft and smelling nice and thats it! Almost cant wait to do cleaning. Think I might do it now!
